Speaking to a colleague in our Milan office, it sounds as if Berlusconi’s Italy is running down faster than the Roman Empire in decline.
He described going to one of the city’s best restaurants with a client, and seeing the main anchor of the #1 news channel (owned by Berlusconi) surrounded by 5 leggy lovelies with a total age of less than 100.
At the next table was the President of a local football club (also owned by Berlusconi), this time with three leggy lovelies with a total age of less than 60.
His client was fascinated; “this is not a restaurant; it’s a whorehouse”.
The photo is not one of the young women of that evening. Nor it is just a gratuitous shot of an Italian calendar girl.
